Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17

There are television shows dedicated to performing make-overs on people, houses, and businesses. Children often ask for a do-over when playing games. Adults often wish for the opportunity to make-up for past mistakes or undo past acts. While we cannot change things from our past, we are able to change the path of our eternal future.

If we allow, Christ will remove the burdens that have weighed us down, guide us forward from our errant behaviors, and reveal the path away from our addictions. He will ignore the failures from our past that may still embarrass us in the present. He will see us as new beings and forgive our sins. Through our belief, we allow Christ to present us as the person He intended for us to be. In this newness, the fruit of our actions may now be more like Him.

Let us learn to forgive ourselves, as Christ has forgiven us. Let us acknowledge Him and see ourselves as new creations in Him. Let us produce fresh fruit. Through His grace, we can allow all old things to pass away and live a fresh, new life in Him.
