Spirit Day 19
4 There is one
body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 5
one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6
one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Ephesians
4:4-6
What church do you attend? What denomination are you? What
style of music is played at your church? What kind of people attend your
church? There are numerous ways in which we choose to separate ourselves when
worshipping the one true God.
Much of what we desire in a worship experience may relate to
the traditions we became accustomed to in our early Christian years. Yet,
because we are comfortable with our style of worship, there may be a temptation
to denigrate the worship, works, and evangelism of others. We forget that though
we do not use the same means, we all desire the same results. No matter our
heritage, position, church size, music style or dress, we must remember that we
all are a part of one body of Christ.
There is one Lord in whom we have faith, and we are free to
serve our God through fellowship with all. As the body of Christ, it is time
that we show our daily worship with heaven in mind, without concern for fitting
in. Instead of focusing on our differences, let us focus on doing the Lord’s
work. Let us focus on our service to God as a form of worship.
