Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is
liberty.

Corinthians 3:17
Throughout generations, the concept of bondage has been represented
by the image of chains. Chains do not completely restrict a prisoner’s
movement. However, any time there is an attempt to move too far away from a
point, the chains bind the prisoner to some structure or weight. Even without a
physical attachment or chain, many of us are restricted by mindsets and
emotional weights that prevent us from moving forward in our lives. There is
hope, however, in the Spirit!
The Spirit will guide us to freedom and teach us how to
overcome our circumstances. The Spirit will reveal to us that we have the power
to overcome and break the chains that hold us back. No matter if these are
chains of disappointment, abuse, addiction, or temptation, the Spirit will
reveal to us the path to overcome.
Let us refuse to be held back by personal injuries from the
past, whether physical or emotional. Let us choose to fight beyond the issues
of our present and not give in to our past disappointments. Let us claim the
freedom that is available to each of us.
